Senior Quantum Engineer

We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our team in Brisbane, Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing installation and maintenance of complex laboratory systems.
The role requires experience working with cryogenics, vacuum, electrical, electronics, controls, optics, and mechanical technologies.
Responsibilities include operating high-end lab equipment, testing and characterizing RF components at cryogenic temperatures, assembling and maintaining cryogenic setups, and developing best practice procedures.
Additional responsibilities include supervision of interns / apprentices, contractors, fault finding, repair and maintenance in lab hardware, planning maintenance and upgrades of core test equipment, and ensuring maximum up-time.
We are looking for an individual with strong practical skills and experience in scientific or advanced engineering environments.
Preferred skills and experience include electronics assembly, soldering, mechanical assembly and fitting, communication with electrical and general manufacturing contractors, proficiency in computer software for hardware debug and data logging, setting up computer / hardware networks, and international project experience involving travel to remote locations for install / maintenance.
