At Daimler Trucks North America LLC, we strive for excellence in logistics and supply chain operations. As a Logistics & Supply Chain Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of our National Logistics Centre.
Role OverviewThe role involves all aspects of logistics and supply chain operations, including warehousing, transportation, and supplier management. You will work closely with our third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers to ensure inventory management and supply chain topics are addressed efficiently.
Main Responsibilities- Improve inventory accuracy to meet customer expectations and internal targets
- Optimize storage locations and space utilization at the Logistics Centre
- Control stock taking activities, including cycle counting, trend checks, and Random Sample Inventory counts
- Guide 3PL suppliers on new part storage, overflow, clearing activities, and expired parts management
- Analyse daily, weekly, and monthly reports to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
- Support 3PL providers in meeting contractual requirements, key performance indicators, and service levels
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A logistics or supply chain degree or relevant business experience, particularly in Inventory Management
- Strong analytical reasoning and solutions-oriented approach
- Attention to detail, with a focus on data entry and numbers
- Ability to manage workload and multitask
- Intermediate computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI
- SAP, ERP, WMS, and inventory systems knowledge and experience is highly desirable
