Job Title: Senior Economist - Market Analysis

This is a unique opportunity to work as a senior economist in a world-leading funding scheme that supports and improves the lives of people who live with a disability.

The role involves addressing pressing policy issues, contributing to systems design, and improving the functioning of disability supports markets through pricing and economic incentives.

Candidates for this position must have superior analytical and problem-solving skills applied to understanding complex economic issues and working toward practical solutions. A bachelor degree in economics and econometrics, or similar, along with proficiency with a major statistical software package (R, Python, Stata, SAS) are highly desirable qualifications.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with likeminded individuals on a quest to address the unique challenges of the care economy and human services markets.
  • Engaging in theoretical and practical policy considerations regarding the current and future states of the supports markets.
  • Applying statistical and economic modelling and research methods, using large datasets, to understand the functioning of markets and propose ways of improving it.
  • Addressing information asymmetries and market failures by carefully designing pilot studies that fill information gaps and test new solutions.
  • Working effectively across teams and departments, and in collaboration with experts and academics, to understand priorities and build a shared understanding.
