Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Peer Support Specialist to join our team. This specialist will provide emotional and peer-based support to individuals undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) treatment.

This unique position involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each person receives comprehensive, compassionate care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Offer empathy, guidance, and reassurance to consumers as they navigate their recovery journey.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop personalized recovery plans that prioritize the consumer's needs and goals.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A lived experience of mental health challenges and personal recovery (ideally including ECT treatment).
  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support (IPS) training or equivalent peer support qualifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and empathetically with people in distress or uncertainty.
