Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and embalm deceased individuals for interment or cremation, adhering to legal requirements and company guidelines.
- Utilize embalming instruments and machinery safely and effectively, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
- Apply sound mortuary practices, emphasizing hygiene and lifting standards, to ensure the well-being of our clients and staff.
- Operate transfer vehicles, hearses, and other vehicles as required, maintaining a high level of safety and professionalism.
- Conduct general maintenance of the facility, monitoring stock levels and ensuring a smooth operation.
- Maintain acceptable Occupational Health and Safety standards, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- File burial permits and complete necessary paperwork related to the death process, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- You possess a strong ability to care for and empathize with bereaved families, providing a sense of comfort and support during a difficult time.
- You have the potential to develop mortuary skills through in-house training, ensuring you stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and best practices.
- You demonstrate sensitivity to and the ability to comply with religious and secular requirements, respecting the diversity of our clients and their needs.
- You possess manual handling and lifting skills, ensuring you can perform your duties safely and effectively.
- You are able to work as part of a team and without direct supervision, demonstrating your ability to take initiative and work independently.
- You are in a fit state and psychological health to adequately perform manual handling, manage stress, and carry out other inherent requirements of the position.
- You are comfortable working with grieving families and the deceased, providing a sense of calm and reassurance.
- You possess a full, unrestricted driver's license, enabling you to operate company vehicles safely and efficiently.
