Regional Express is Australia's largest independent regional airline, operating a fleet of Saab 340 aircraft to various destinations. As a Structural/Sheet Metal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our aircraft.

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out sheet metal repairs according to SAAB repair statements and SRM, as well as composite repairs following SAAB SRM and repair statements. Additionally, they will assist in corrosion/damage removal and assessment, development of improved structural repair processes, and maintenance of company sheet metal tooling associated with the sheet metal workshop.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing Aircraft sheet metal repairs IAW SAAB repair statements and SAAB SRM
  • Carrying out composite repairs IAW SAAB SRM and SAAB repair statements
  • Assisting in corrosion/damage removal & assessment
  • Contributing to the development of improved structural repair processes & ICAs
  • Maintaining the company sheet metal tooling associated with the sheet metal workshop
  • Providing training on structural repair work & sheet metal practices

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate IV in Aeroskills – Structures (MEA41322 or MEA41318) and have at least 5 years of experience in aircraft structural repairs. They must also demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, a highly motivated attitude, sound work ethics, and meet the requirements to hold an Aviation Security Identity Card.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual who can provide heavy maintenance support, including composite repair experience, SAAB 340 aircraft experience, NDI experience or approvals, and CASA B1 & A1 licence (if applicable).
