Singing Teacher Job Description

We are seeking an experienced vocal coach to join our team in Term 1. Our music academy is a well-established institution located in the South Eastern Suburbs, close to public transport and freeways.

As a singing teacher at our academy, you will be responsible for helping students improve their musicianship across all ages, levels, styles, and backgrounds.

Our team is warm and friendly, and we collaborate in a great modern environment. You will have no administrative tasks, as we take care of scheduling, student/parent needs outside of learning, and all other aspects of the business.

  • Experience teaching individual and group classes, as well as online classes
  • A Working with Children Certificate

  • Open and warm nature
  • Team-oriented and easy to work with
  • Professionally presented and upholds a professional manner at all times
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Innovative with an ability to think outside the box when required
  • Versed in multiple teaching methods that support holistic principles
  • Educated in vocal anatomy/vocal science and applies this to their teaching
  • Ability to motivate, encourage, and support students in all areas of instrument and performance
  • Highly dedicated teacher who is always looking to further themselves in their instrument and pedagogy
  • Keeps updated with the latest repertoire in all styles and has the ability to select the appropriate pieces
  • The ability to relate, teach, and communicate with a large spectrum of ages at all levels
  • Must be able to teach music theory, aural, and basic notation
  • Must have the ability to teach performance skills for auditions, competitions, gigs, and a range of performances
  • Some knowledge in music software such as Garageband, Ableton, and Sibelius would be a bonus
