Financial Accountant

Overview

We are an economic regulator driving the reduction of carbon emissions in Australia.

Our role is guided by climate change law, where we administer schemes that contribute to the Australian Government's climate target of reducing emissions to 43% below 2005 levels by 2030 and achieving Net Zero by 2050.

The Corporate branch is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance section.

The position sits within a small team delivering financial activities. Our team is committed to providing professional and client-focused services to our staff and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and presenting monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with established accounting standards, legislative requirements, and departmental guidelines.
  • Managing coordination of monthly tasks including preparation and entry of journals, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
