Flight Operations Quality Assurance Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Rex Human Factors Group as a Flight Operations Quality Assurance Coordinator. This full-time role will be based at our Head Office in Mascot, Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide regular updates to the Rex Group Chief Operating Officers on the effectiveness of the Quality Assurance Management System, including ongoing corrective, remedial, and preventative actions, continuous improvements, program maintenance, and safety promotion initiatives.
  • Act as the principal point of contact for Flight Operations Management, gatekeepers, and Flight data analysis systems and programs.
  • Responsible for providing analysis of operational flight data, producing reports and presentations for the Flight Operation Quality Assurance (FOQA) Program, and ensuring that daily FOQA events are processed within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Provide oversight and management of the assessment of events and trends, identification of operational hazards, escalation of preventative and corrective actions, and validation of completed actions.
  • Explore new data analysis products and methodologies for data mining, coordinate with Flight Operations and Engineering for data analysis needs, and actively communicate with FOQA Program members and gatekeepers.
  • Support the Training and Checking departments for the purpose of continuous improvement, develop, prepare, and present the analysis of flight data, create flight animations of actual events for use in accident and incident investigations, and assist with accident and incident investigations.
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise within FOQA Team meetings, participate and contribute to the Rex Group Safety Management System and Quality Assurance Program, and actively seek to identify and enhance flight safety, operational efficiency, and compliance.
  • Provide training and support to employees involved in the FOQA program (as required), maintain up-to-date with latest regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practice related to FOQA and Part 142 Quality Assurance, and represent the Rex Group at FOQA-related industry meetings and seminars.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • A high level of understanding of Safety Management Systems and Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of CASA Part 142 key personnel.
  • Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of data analytics.
  • Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of relevant Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, Civil Aviation Orders, and industry best practice.
  • High level of proficiency in computers, spreadsheets, and data dissemination tools.
  • Previous experience in flight data programs (EMS/Airfase users preferred).
  • Previous Data analytics leadership experience.
  • Experience or understanding of High Capacity RPT Operations.
  • A completed degree in an aviation-related discipline.
  • CPL or higher with pass in ATPL AGK and/or Instrument Rating theory.
  • An engineering, data analysis, or computer science background.
