Job Summary:

The Regional Express Flight Operations Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management of Part 142 Quality Assurance activities, including the Quality Assurance Management System as described in CASR. This role will provide regular updates to the Rex Group Chief Operating Officers on the effectiveness of the Quality Assurance Management System, including ongoing corrective, remedial, and preventative actions, as well as continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides regular updates to the Rex Group Chief Operating Officers on the effectiveness of the Quality Assurance Management System.
  • Manages Part 142 Quality Assurance activities, including the Quality Assurance Management System as described in CASR.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the Quality Assurance Management System, including the identification of operational hazards and the escalation of preventative and corrective actions.
  • Provides analysis of operational flight data and produces reports and presentations for the Flight Operation Quality Assurance (FOQA) Program.
  • Ensures that daily FOQA events are processed within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Provides oversight and management of the assessment of events and trends, the identification of operational hazards, and the escalation of preventative and corrective actions.
  • Validates completed actions and explores new data analysis products and methodologies for data mining.
  • Coordinates with Flight Operations and Engineering for data analysis needs.
  • Actively communicates with FOQA Program members and gatekeepers.
  • Supports the Training and Checking departments for the purpose of continuous improvement.
  • Develops, prepares, and presents the analysis of flight data.
  • Creates flight animations of actual events for use in accident and incident investigations.
  • Assists with accident and incident investigations.
  • Provides leadership and subject matter expertise within FOQA Team meetings.
  • Participates and contributes to the Rex Group Safety Management System and Quality Assurance Program.
  • Actively seeks to identify and enhance flight safety, operational efficiency, and compliance.
  • Provides training and support to employees involved in the FOQA program (as required).
  • Maintains up-to-date with latest regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practice related to FOQA and Part 142 Quality Assurance.
  • Represents the Rex Group at FOQA-related industry meetings and seminars.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • A high level of understanding of Safety Management Systems and Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of CASA Part 142 key personnel.
  • Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of data analytics.
  • Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of relevant Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, Civil Aviation Orders, and industry best practice.
  • High level of proficiency in computers, spreadsheets, and data dissemination tools.
  • Previous experience in flight data programs (EMS/Airfase users preferred).
  • Previous Data analytics leadership experience.
  • Experience or understanding of High Capacity RPT Operations.
  • A completed degree in an aviation-related discipline.
  • CPL or higher with pass in ATPL AGK and/or Instrument Rating theory.
  • An engineering, data analysis, or computer science background.
