**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced CG Pipeline Solutions Architect to join our team. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the computer-generated imagery (CGI) pipeline in a fast-paced, feature film visual effects production environment.

The primary focus of this position is to ensure artist efficiency by developing and maintaining software tools, providing front-line support to artists, and troubleshooting CGI assets and shots.

The successful candidate will receive day-to-day direction and priorities from the show's CG Supervisor and report to the R&D supervisor for technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new pipeline tools and workflows to meet immediate production demands and ensure consistency across the facility.
  • Maintain a wide range of existing workflows and scripts.
  • Provide front-line production support to artists, troubleshoot CGI assets and shots, and help with general problem-solving.
  • Monitor email requests, package up problems, and redirect to the appropriate engineering team.
  • Test and validate tools and techniques in production.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in testing and releasing new and modified software systems.
  • Act as an on-call resource for show production staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining tools for use in computer graphics.
  • At least 2 years' production experience in visual effects for film, commercials, or television.
  • Proficiency in Linux.
  • Strong Python scripting skills required.
  • Experience in one or more of Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Mari, Katana, RenderMan, Unreal Engine, or similar.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and provide innovative solutions to pipeline issues.
