Horticulturist Green Team Leader Job Description

As a key member of the horticulture team, you will engage with customers and colleagues on matters related to plants, providing educational guidance and exceptional customer service. Your passion for plants will drive plant selection and recommendations to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers, responding to queries about plant purchases and associated products
  • Label plants and create tickets with plant family information
  • Pick and pack plants and associated products for stores and e-commerce
  • Maintain ticketing integrity, ensuring it is visible and effective
  • Care for infrastructure, cleanliness, hygiene, and WHS
  • Contribute to plant selection and offering
  • Organize creative plant displays and customer demonstrations (workshops)
  • Develop and coordinate training programs for horticulturists
  • Participate in events and talks
  • Provide plant ID services
  • Maintain demonstrations and garden centre tours
  • Collaborate with visual merchandising to develop attractive plant displays
  • Maintain employee standards and care, including uniform, grooming, and PPE
  • Contribute to content creation under marketing supervision
  • Participate in stock-take
