Chief AI Engineer Role

We are seeking an accomplished Chief AI Engineer to spearhead our cutting-edge AI Powered Engineering function.

This pivotal role will involve collaborating with CBA's top engineers and AI experts to drive innovation, culture, and experimentation, ensuring all engineers leverage emerging AI technologies effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead and deliver large-scale engineering initiatives that align with business objectives.
  • To explore and partner with engineering squads across the Group on AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • To design and implement data-driven solutions used by multiple teams and products, prioritizing customer-centricity.
  • To contribute to code delivery through leading code reviews, documentation, direct contribution, and fixing complex bugs.
  • To mentor junior members in the team and identify exceptional engineers for career development.
Requirements
  • A proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML technologies, commercial or personal experience in AI-related technologies and tools.
  • In-depth understanding of architectural patterns, cloud-native solutions on AWS & Azure, microservices, integration, and containerization.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to define long-term technical direction for teams and organizations.
  • Outstanding leadership skills, passion for upskilling engineers, and fostering a culture of innovation.
