Job Overview

This is a senior laboratory management position in a geochemistry lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of staff to achieve operational efficiency and quality standards.

The role involves managing priorities, monitoring progress, and ensuring timeliness and quality of results. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining adequate organisational structure, ensuring staff training and records are kept, and providing regular management and quality reports.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage client expectations and communicate progress updates.
  • Maintain high-quality results while adhering to organisational procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor laboratory staff to ensure skill enhancement and adequate staffing levels.
  • Evaluate and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Degree in chemistry or related field, with professional certifications preferred.
  • Experience in geochemistry laboratory work and chemical knowledge.
  • Skill in supervising staff, administration, and proficiency in using CCLAS LIMS software.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and basic business finance understanding.
