Position Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified academic professional to coordinate the Independent Learning Project program and support rural research initiatives in Port Macquarie.

This is a part-time position, 14 hours per week, with a competitive remuneration based on Academic Level B or C, pro rata, plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the Role

This role plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality teaching and advancing rural medical education. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating ILP projects relevant to local area health issues, supporting rural research initiatives, and contributing to the academic education program at the campus.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the ILP program and develop innovative strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Support rural research initiatives and collaborate with Local Health Districts and Primary and Rural Health Networks to progress research projects.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of academic education programs at the campus, focusing on rurally focused teaching and research.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A BMedMD, MBBS or equivalent medical degree, or a PhD in Biomedical Science or a related discipline.
  • Evidence of professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge, and professional accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching biomedical sciences, clinical medicine, and/or related health disciplines at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • A strong commitment to rurally focused teaching and research to improve patient and local healthcare outcomes.
