Job Title

Electronics Development Specialist

Description

The Electronics Development Specialist is responsible for the creation of innovative electronic subsystems for demanding motion control technologies. This role involves designing and troubleshooting new products with a strong focus on performance, quality, and efficiency in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Circuit Design: Develop and analyze circuit card assemblies featuring control and power electronics as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Embedded Systems: Develop and debug FPGA and embedded microcontroller modules
  • Product Commissioning: Participate in commissioning and testing of products to ensure they meet high standards
  • Technical Documentation: Develop test plans, commissioning/qualification reports, technical drawings/schematics, instructions, and manuals
  • Sales Support: Support the sales team in business development activities, including liaising with customers, preparing tender documents, supporting training, and other customer and internal events
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Minimum: Degree in Electronics / Mechatronics / Embedded Systems or similar engineering discipline
  • Preferred Qualifications: Masters in Electronics / Mechatronics / Embedded Systems or similar engineering discipline
  • Experience: Required: 3+ years experience in a relevant product development role
  • Desired Experience: 5+ years experience in a relevant product development role, firmware development, designing to EMI/EMC requirements, sneak circuit analysis, implementing communications, modelling using MATLAB/Simulink/Python etc.
Skills
  • Design and Simulation: Proficiency in design, simulation, lab testing, and debugging of PCBAs
  • Motion Control: Knowledge of motion control and control theory and implementation
  • Brushless DC Motors: Good understanding of electronics in relation to brushless DC motors and their applications
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis
  • Writing Skills: Strong writing skills for technical documentation and reports
