Job Summary
The successful applicant will manage and deliver range management services to the Defence Forces. This is a permanent fulltime position that will see you based in Port Augusta.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all required services are planned, coordinated and delivered according to specific base and service location requirements for training areas and ranges services.
- Allocate, task and source internal labour, subcontractors and equipment as needed.
- Conduct service inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Coordinate bookings for access to the Range or Training Area.
- Manage the Range communications network and maintain fire-fighting equipment to a serviceable and fully operational condition.
- Oversee the operation and administration of an efficient and safe Range service for all facilities, equipment and personnel.
- Coordinate and control Range safety.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A thorough knowledge of range service delivery and statutory compliance requirements.
- A sound understanding of Contract Management, Quality Management systems and the continuous improvement process.
- Knowledge of Defence roles, functions and organisation.
- Well-developed computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- An ability to interact effectively with technical staff, subcontractors, senior military officers and Client representatives.
- A current driver's licence to operate range vehicles/equipment.
- Good radio communications skills.
Additional Requirements
In addition to the above requirements, you must hold the following Fire Fighting Qualifications: PUAFIR204 Respond to Wildfire, PUAEQU001 Prepare, Maintain & Test Response Equipment, PUAOPE013 Operate Communication Equipment & Systems, PUATEA001 Work in a Team, and PUAFIR215 Prevent Injury.
Remuneration
The estimated annual salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 depending on experience.
