Crowne Plaza Melbourne Carlton is the ideal hub for corporate and social events. Our flexible conference spaces and function rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, while our private dining room offers an exclusive and intimate setting.

Job Role:

As a Night Manager, you will play a crucial role in the pre-opening journey of the hotel, establishing operational foundations, ways of working, and department culture. Once opened, you will oversee night-time operations (11pm-7am), supervising overnight staff, providing exceptional guest service, and ensuring property safety and security.

A day in your life:

Upon commencing, you will join the pre-opening team, assisting the Front Office Manager in setting up the department for excellence by recruiting staff, establishing SOPs, delivering training, and promoting collaborative workplace culture. You will also aid in preparing the hotel for guest arrival, including guest rooms, public areas, technology, and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Guest Services: Deliver exceptional services during overnight hours, handling late arrivals, early departures, guest requests, issues, and in-room dining.
  • Team Management: Lead and support overnight teams, ensuring effective performance and adherence to standards.
  • Financial & Audit Responsibilities: Perform and ensure accuracy of Night Audit functions, reconcile accounts and transactions, and IHG One Rewards audit.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare and distribute key daily reports, including financial and operational reports, house status, guest arrivals, guest feedback, duty manager log, and daily briefings.
  • Security & Safety: Monitor security systems, conduct regular patrols, respond to incidents, and ensure a secure environment for all guests and staff.
  • Emergency Management: Act as Chief Warden during emergencies, following crisis management procedures to ensure guest and team safety.
