Protecting your personal information is our top priority. As a trustee of the Retail Employees Superannuation Trust (Rest) Fund, we are committed to ensuring the confidentiality and security of your data.

In this policy, we outline our approach to handling personal information. We collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988.

  • Employment details, such as occupation, salary and hours of work
  • Superannuation details, such as investment option choices and membership commencement date

We also collect sensitive information, which includes personal information that is considered sensitive, such as health information or biometric information. We will only collect sensitive information with your consent, unless an exemption applies.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use your personal information for a variety of purposes, including:

  • To confirm your identity and eligibility for Rest services
  • To provide you with Rest services or information about them
  • To correspond with you, including requests or complaints
  • To meet regulatory requirements, including fund and breach reporting obligations
  • For marketing activity related to Rest and our partners

Consequences of not providing personal information may include being unable to obtain Rest services.

Do We Disclose Your Personal Information Outside Australia?

Yes, we may disclose your personal information to entities located overseas for some purposes, including data hosting and IT services in several countries. We will not disclose outside Australia unless appropriate safeguards apply or you consent.

Rest strives to continually improve its services, so we may update this policy from time to time. Any personal information we hold will be governed by the most current version of our policy.
