Job Description

As a key member of our Security and Emergency Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and contractors.

Reporting to the Eastern Mines SEM Supervisors, this position requires a highly motivated and skilled individual who can respond to emergencies with precision and speed.

  • Respond to mine site emergencies with expertise and poise.
  • Maintain operational emergency response equipment to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Complete regular drug and alcohol testing to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with the site Health Safety and Security (HSS) team to execute various health and safety-related projects.
  • Provide exceptional pre-hospital emergency care, adhering to our clinical standards, accurately documenting incidents, and applying the correct operational procedures.
  • Design and deliver training sessions, knowledge-sharing activities, and scenario-based exercises for volunteer Emergency Response Team (ERT) members and other staff.
  • Commit to ongoing development of emergency management and clinical skills, maintaining competencies and Scope of Clinical Practice.
  • Deliver clinical education, training, and assessment, ensuring Learning Management System compliance and administrative efficiency, as well as meeting Clinical Governance requirements.
  • Provide clinical mentoring and support to colleagues, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • AHPRA registration as a paramedic or registered nurse, with no conditions or restrictions impacting Scope of Clinical Practice attainment.
  • Meet the requirements to achieve and maintain approved Scope of Clinical Practice at paramedic or RN level within Western Australia operations.
  • Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue, Public Safety, or equivalent/highest qualification.
  • Rescue experience in firefighting, on-road ambulance, defense forces, or other emergency services.
  • Comprehensive technical understanding of risk management and/or operational mining experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and interaction experience with personnel, patients, or customer service.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in rapidly unfolding situations.
