We are seeking a skilled Senior Strategic Planner to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex planning proposals and policy reviews, negotiating agreements to secure the best outcomes for our community.
  • Contribute to the preparation, implementation, and review of land use strategies, planning instruments, and urban design policy.
  • Represent Council's interests on State infrastructure and development projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with community and government stakeholders.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and advice for Council and the Local Planning Panel.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in town planning, urban design, or a related discipline (essential).
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, policy development, and complex assessment work.
  • Strong understanding of planning legislation, State planning policies, and the plan-making process.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating agreements and achieving positive community outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, influencing, negotiating, and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong project management skills and balancing competing priorities.
