Electrical Network Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Network Operations Manager to support the property and asset services contract in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

The successful candidate will have expertise in coordinating field activities, managing transmission switching schedules, ensuring safety and asset protection, and developing service definitions for all items relating to the electrical authority.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and monitor field activities in response to planned network outages, fault restoration, and emergencies
  • Create, check, and approve transmission switching schedules
  • Ensure the safety of personnel and the protection of assets while maintaining electricity network reliability
  • Develop and manage service definition/delivery tables for all items relating to the Authority
  • Identify, familiarise, and conduct regular inspections of all HV electrical assets within the Defence network
  • Manage the real-time power system, voltage, perform dispatch, and security functions
  • Facilitate operational communication within the team and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the network
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Certification as an Electrical Authority Network Controller or equivalent
  • Current HV switching and operations qualifications
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role with the electrical industry, preferably within a Defence or high-security environment
  • Experience in developing and implementing electrical operational guidelines and procedures
  • Experience with coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing complex projects
  • Strong background in safety management and compliance within the electrical sector
  • First aid and CPR certification

  • Australian citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
