Job Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our organisation and contribute to the delivery of complex engineering projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong history of team collaboration, career achievement, and high-quality project execution.

The role is responsible for promoting safety through design, conducting site surveys, developing concept and preliminary designs, generating and reviewing technical specifications, and carrying out design calculations.

Achieving key performance indicators for design quality and timely delivery, adhering to project documentation, employer requirements, and industry standards is crucial.

  • Develop concept and preliminary designs based on tender information.
  • Generate and review general arrangement drawings, substation layouts, single-line diagrams, and related documentation.
  • Prepare and refine technical specifications for designs and equipment.
  • Carry out design calculations to support plant design.

The role involves travel to other offices and client sites across the UK, with overnight stays where necessary.

Chartered Status (preferred): Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a professional body such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology or Institution of Electrical Engineers.

Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Strong experience in EHV/HV substation plant design, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects within the power sector.
