Senior Geophysicist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geophysicist to join our Geotechnical team at WSP Global Inc. in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing our capabilities and reputation in the field of geophysics.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Preparation: Assist with project planning and preparation of technical deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Geophysical Surveys: Assist in shallow ground geophysical surveys, including seismic, electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic, and GPR techniques, as well as over water geophysical surveys.
- Data Processing and Interpretation: Process and interpret data using industry-standard geophysical interpretation software, integrating geophysical and geotechnical data.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate geophysical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Problem-Solving and Safety: Use initiative and judgment to resolve problems, identify safety hazards, and report OH&S incidents.
- Collaboration and Support: Liaise with and provide geophysicist support for specialists from other disciplines or offices within WSP.
- Location: Be located in Sydney or willing to relocate to NSW.
- Education: Bachelor of Science or related discipline majoring in geophysics, with a postgraduate qualification in geophysics preferred but not essential.
- Skills: Basic analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good time management ability, good attention to detail, ability to work efficiently autonomously and in a team environment, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, flexibility to work in the field for extended periods, and a valid Australian driver's license.
