- The ability to lead and mentor a team of junior electricians and apprentices is crucial for the success of the team.
- All work carried out by the successful applicant must comply with Australian safety standards and regulations.
- A high level of literacy in electrical plans, schematics and blueprints is required for this position.
- Conducting routine inspections and ensuring compliance with safety and quality procedures is an important aspect of the job.
- Collaboration with other departments to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime is critical for the success of the project.
- Managing and reporting on project timelines, costs and progress is an essential part of the role.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent qualification is required.
- An A-Grade Electrical Licence is essential for this position.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in industrial electrical work is necessary for the role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls and industrial automation is essential for the successful applicant.
- Experience with PLCs and variable speed drives would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team is crucial for the success of the team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for the role.
- Ability to work safely under pressure and in varying conditions is a requirement for the position.
- Working / Liaising with Builders and working through jobs autonomously is an essential part of the role.
- Working / Liaising with customers daily is a key aspect of the job.
- Taking charge of apprentices to coach and develop is a critical part of the role.
- Be motivated and have an excellent work ethic is essential for the successful applicant.
- Be able to work additional / overtime hours as required is a requirement for the position.
- Be trade qualified and hold a current Electrical licence is essential for the role.
- Possess tools of the trade is a requirement for the position.
- Applicants must have a current Construction White Card.
- Drivers licence (Manual required) is a requirement for the role.
