Senior GIS Analyst Position for Spatial Transformation

Estimated Salary: AU$115,000 - AU$145,000 per annumThis highly rewarding role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and access to Leadership programmes. You will be part of a new business transformation initiative, implementing a new spatial platform, and contribute to projects with real-world implications.
Job DescriptionYou will report to the Team Leader (Spatial and Asset Information) and be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating corporate processes and procedures for Council's ESri Enterprise spatial systems. The primary focus will be transitioning from legacy spatial systems to ESri Enterprise, requiring experience in migrating to ESri Enterprise platform, setting up administrators, managing permissions, and training the wider team on the new system's functionality.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the establishment, execution, and surveillance of Council's spatial data standards, specifications, and operational guidelines to uphold data accuracy and relevance
- Provide specialised technical guidance regarding the design, administration, and upkeep of spatial systems and databases, ensuring seamless integration with other ICT systems
- Advocate for and champion the efficient utilisation of spatial systems and GIS, including mobile GIS solutions, throughout the organisation
- Organise regular assessments of spatial data quality to ensure compliance with corporate standards and maintain data integrity
- Coordinate spatial analysis initiatives and projects to extract insights that enhance decision-making across various business units
- Stay abreast of GIS industry trends, monitoring advancements, and proposing initiatives that align with business needs
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with essential internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth spatial data exchange and achieve GIS goals
- Completion of tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution in the fields of spatial science, IT or associated discipline or a demonstrated ability at that level
- Extensive experience in the implementation, management, and utilisation of ESri Enterprise platform
- Skilled in setting up user permissions, user groups, defining user levels, and establishing AGOL and Enterprise collaborations
- Proficiency in performing migration plan tests, setting up a corporate geodatabase, and managing FME scripts for data transfer between old and new
- Accomplished in GIS technologies and the ability to continually update knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in this field
- Demonstrated track record of determining business requirements and effectively implementing change management strategies across an organisation
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
