This innovative and supportive school is seeking a creative Secondary Visual Arts Teacher for Years 7-9.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire artistic expression, develop students' practical and critical thinking skills, and play a key role in a school that values both its staff and the arts.

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive Visual Arts curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering diverse techniques, mediums, and concepts.
  • Create engaging, differentiated lessons incorporating hands-on projects, demonstrations, discussions, and art history.
  • Manage art studio resources, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.
  • Teach a range of disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, photography, and digital media.
  • Assess student skills and creativity through critiques, portfolio reviews, and exhibitions.
  • Organize and curate art displays to showcase student work within the school and community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular projects.

The ideal candidate will have unrestricted working rights in Australia, completed relevant qualifications in Education, current VIT registration, and previous teaching or placement experience in teaching Secondary Art in Australia/NZ.
