About the Role:

We are seeking an Educational Support Specialist to join our team on a temporary part-time basis. The role requires 2 days per week, with flexibility regarding which days these are.

The successful applicant will contribute to the educational support of our students by providing individual and group counselling sessions, developing and implementing group programs, and supporting parents through parenting programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions
  • Develop and implement group programs
  • Support parents through parenting programs
  • Prepare student management plans and independent learning plans
  • Refer students to external specialists when necessary
  • Facilitate professional learning for staff
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology
  • Professional registration with AHPRA or equivalent
  • Eligibility for registration with Australian Psychological Society (APS)
  • Previous experience working in school environments is highly desirable
  • An overriding commitment to student learning and wellbeing
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to innovate and develop programs to meet student needs
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment
  • Ability to work with confidential matters
  • A proven capacity to develop trust with students, parents, and staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • A valid Working with Children clearance
