Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Systems Maintenance Specialist to join our Air Traffic Control (ATC) Operation Maintenance (OM) team based at HMAS Albatross ATC Nowra, NSW.

  • Conducting scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance on all ATC systems at HMAS Albatross, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Fault finding and diagnosis utilizing a variety of modern specialized test equipment, with a focus on efficient and effective resolution.
  • Review and maintain technical documentation and processes, promoting compliance and quality assurance.
  • Maintenance data entry, including maintenance planning and forecasting as appropriate, to support informed decision-making.
  • Comply with Defence maintenance reporting requirements through the authorized reporting web portal, adhering to AMO standards.

About You

  • Minimum Certificate III in Electronics/Communications, with extensive electronics technical experience and expertise in fault finding and diagnosis.
  • Radar frequency and RF communication experience, with a strong understanding of complex electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Well-organized, self-starting, highly motivated, and able to work effectively autonomously, in a team environment, and with various stakeholders.
  • Able to undertake routine activities without immediate supervision, demonstrating independence and initiative.
  • High levels of verbal and written communication, with the ability to provide technical input and collaborate with the team.
  • Defence security NV1 clearance or eligibility to obtain, with a background in Defence aviation being desirable.
