Skilled Mechanical Trades Professional Wanted

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to work on complex mechanical systems and equipment.

This role involves performing routine inspections, repairs, refurbishments, overhauls, and upgrades of Autonomous Underwater Vessels (AUVs) mechanical systems and equipment. The successful candidate will diagnose mechanical issues, conduct component and subsystem-level tests, collaborate with engineers and other trades to resolve complex issues, operate the Maintenance Management System (MMS), ensure accurate records of maintenance activities, parts and consumables consumption, conduct underway Sea testing of AUVs, support development, review and trial of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation for AUV maintenance activities operations, assist with the preparation of risk assessments for maintenance and test operations, identify and implement mitigations, provide constructive feedback to design and manufacturing teams for ongoing evolution, and be able to be deployed to the field to perform emergency repairs when necessary, potentially in challenging conditions or adverse weather.

• 4+ years experience in maintenance of mechanical system or structures
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-tool skills
• Vocational training in mechanical trades or associate degree ideal
• Maritime trade background is desirable as well as subsea experience or autonomous vehicle operation (any domain)
• Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics etc.)
• Experience performing component, subsystem and system level test and diagnosing/escalating issues discovered during these processes
• Exposure to operation of Maintenance Management Systems
• Maritime/forklift/crane qualifications desirable, not essential
