About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Urban Designer to join our growing team in Brisbane and lead the Urban Design function. With the support of Project Directors and a larger office, you will play a key role in shaping urban design projects for diverse sectors.

Job Description

You will be involved in various master planning projects, including residential subdivision, urban redevelopment, and mixed-use commercial. You will work closely with Town Planners and assist in all stages of the master planning and development process, focusing on designing and delivering medium to large-scale subdivisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive master plans for subdivisions, incorporating lot arrangement, street layout, and integration of amenities.
  • Conduct site evaluations to understand physical, environmental, and social factors influencing the design.
  • Evaluate designs against Brisbane's planning policies, zoning regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, councils, and community members to incorporate feedback and requirements.
  • Incorporate sustainable features into the design, such as green spaces, water-sensitive designs, and energy-efficient planning.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Circa 5+ years of urban design experience in the local market working on similar projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a results-driven approach.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Illustrator, CAD, Sketchup, and 3D software.
