Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Site Audit Teams: Provide a hands-on compliance and/or advisory role that meets or exceeds client expectations and supports your partner/manager team.
  • Manage Audit Fieldwork: Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion, ensuring planned audit work is appropriately completed to satisfy audit objectives.
  • Communicate with Clients: Communicate any issues relating to an audit with manager or partner, including matters which arise during the audit which were not identified at the planning stage.
  • Prepare Audit Documentation: Prepare or review audit documentation and drafts of the financial statements, ensuring the efficient use of appropriate software packages (Caseware).
  • Delegate Work: Delegate work with other members of the audit team, ensuring Juniors understand their responsibilities and have received appropriate on-the-job training/coaching.
  • Manage Commercial Reports: Produce commercial management reports, specifically drafting sections of the report to management.
  • Address Technical Issues: Address, discuss, and advance conclusion in respect of technical and audit issues identified during the course of the audit.
  • Control Audit Timelines: Control the audit in relation to timescales, budgets, and risk management procedures.
  • Provide Feedback: Provide feedback through regular communication and timely assignment appraisal.
Client Relationships
  • Maintain Client Relationships: Maintain good working relationships with client staff and be aware of the wide range of Larking Gowen services.
  • Sell Services: Spot opportunities to potentially sell those services to clients and be actively involved in office marketing events when appropriate.
  • Ensure Professional Duties: Ensure the firm carries out its professional duties properly and consistently achieves deadlines.
Training and Development
  • Attend Training Courses: Attend training courses as identified in order to develop both technical and personal skills and keep records for compliance purposes.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Maintain an understanding of audit methodology and Caseware audit software.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: ACA or ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Experience: Significant experience of working in a professional accountancy practice, with experience of using Microsoft packages, internet, email, and computerized audit packages.
  • Skills: Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadlines and priorities, proven ability to manage a portfolio, and experience of coaching or mentoring colleagues.
