We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at AIA Hong Kong And Macau. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing commercial legal advice and support to our business partners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide commercial and corporate legal advice to business partners and stakeholders to minimize exposure to legal and regulatory risk.
- Act as legal lead on strategic projects, including as a member of relevant project teams and working groups to provide input on legal issues.
- Draft and negotiate various commercial agreements required by the business, including third-party service and administration agreements, agency and distribution agreements, strategic alliance agreements, and heads of agreement.
- Demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness to understand the perspective and requirements of the business.
- Demonstrate strong judgment and decision-making ability.
- Have a collaborative attitude and a high level of team engagement.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in a commercial legal environment, such as a top or mid-tier law firm or quality in-house legal department.
- Strong exposure to corporate and commercial law, including corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other complex commercial transactions.
- Experience in contract drafting and negotiation, including procurement contracts.
- Ability to liaise with a diverse range of personnel operating at a senior level, including senior executives.
- Admission to practice as a barrister and solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction.
