About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Custody Officer to join our team in Broome. As a Custody Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of detainees, while also providing a supportive and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport and supervise detainees during critical activities
  • Participate in court activities for security requirements
  • Manage conflict and communicate with empathy
  • Value diversity and display a fair and open-minded attitude
  • Provide safety and security for Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and members of the public
  • Perform walking and mobile patrols of a designated area
  • Supervise people in custody, escort them to appointments or court appearances, and maintain accurate records
What We Offer
  • Unique Training Experience: Fully funded Certificate 3 in Correctional Services
  • Paid Training: 6 weeks of fully paid training
  • Pay increase after training: $29.50 per hour
  • Regional Allowance: $10,189 per annum
Requirements
  • Availability to train full time for 6 weeks in Perth
  • Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain qualifications
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test
