The specialist will undertake delegated activities while assuming individual accountability within the position and practice context.

The ideal candidate will be able to carry out key responsibilities in accordance with our values:

  1. Apply clinical midwifery expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver high-standard woman and baby-centred care.

  2. Develop individualised care plans in partnership with women for antenatal, postnatal, and intrapartum care, extending to women's health, sexual or reproductive health, preparation for parenthood, and childcare.

  3. Maintain woman and baby safety, risk minimisation, and safe work activities within the practice setting.

  4. Respond appropriately to sudden changes in the health status of women and babies using comprehensive assessment and intervention skills.

  5. Provide teaching to women and their families to facilitate learning and support their move towards independence.

Applicants are encouraged to contribute to the health equity agenda by supporting actions that meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This includes eliminating racial discrimination and institutional racism, increasing access to healthcare, influencing social, cultural, and economic determinants of health, delivering culturally safe and responsive health services, and working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and organizations.

This is an exciting opportunity for those who wish to make a positive impact on people's lives while advancing their careers. We offer rewarding career and development opportunities across clinical and non-clinical areas. Our organisation is committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported.

Flexible working arrangements and competitive salary rates with annual incremental increases are available. Higher than standard employer contributions to Superannuation (up to 12.75%) and access to salary packaging are also offered. You will have the opportunity to be part of a world-class, innovative health service committed to excellence in healthcare, teaching, and research.
