Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable and efficient designs that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project teams and the delivery of projects to budget, time, and quality for various clients.
  • Provide technical/design expertise and assist in the management of engineering and support staff.
  • Support the development of GHD's civil consultancy both locally and nationally.
  • Business Development, Fee Proposal writing, and Fee Estimates.
  • Mentoring younger staff to assist in their development and delivery of solutions for clients.
  • Designing and documenting Civil Engineering Infrastructure, including Road Design, Earthworks, and Storm Water Drainage.
  • Managing project development, design, and construction, ensuring minimization of construction risks.
  • Conducting Safety In Design reviews and constructability reviews.
  • Managing job delivery on time and within budget, adhering to GHD QA systems and processes.
  • Collaborating with clients and team members to provide high-quality engineering consultancy services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ) or the ability to obtain within 12 months of joining.
  • A passion for design documentation, assessment, and analysis of technical data.
  • Excellent project management skills and the willingness to mentor junior engineers.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written (including report writing).
  • Demonstrated professional judgment and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to produce concise and accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, drafting briefs, and mark-ups.
  • Experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects from small to medium-sized projects.
  • Knowledge of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modeling, and construction.
