**Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist Role Overview**

The role of Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Specialist is a critical position within our organisation. This specialist has overall responsibility for the development of Site HSW Improvement Plans for multiple hospitals.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direction and leadership to Hospital Executives in achieving HSW objectives
  • Building capability and enhancing accountability for safety amongst managers, supervisors, and health and safety committees
  • Displaying and promoting HSW practices through active field-based leadership and engagement
  • Driving safe systems of work, quality incident investigations, and implementing education and coaching programs

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience working in Work Health and Safety

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Work, Health and Safety or higher
  • Vehicle driver's license appropriate to the State or Territory
  • Incident and Investigation training, e.g., ICAM or similar
  • COVID-19 vaccination (as per state policy requirements)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Worked in Healthcare
  • Auditing Qualification
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Membership or affiliation with a safety professional association
