About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Java Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge software solutions.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Java development, with a proven track record of modernizing and refactoring legacy codebases. They will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable deployment strategies, collaborating with architecture and DevOps teams, and mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires strong technical expertise, including knowledge of cloud architectures, containerization principles, and event-driven architectures. The ideal candidate will also have experience migrating from on-prem to cloud environments (AWS preferred) and familiarity with CI/CD practices, including Bamboo or similar tools.

In addition to technical skills, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable deployment strategies
  • Collaborate with architecture and DevOps teams to define and implement technical direction
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices and technical decision-making
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code standards
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure quality and reliability of software
Requirements
  • Multiple years of Java development experience, with exposure to modernization/refactoring contexts
  • Deep understanding of legacy Java enterprise environments (WebSphere, GWT, JSP)
  • Proven track record in modularizing and decoupling large codebases
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices; prior experience with Bamboo or similar tools
  • Understanding of cloud architectures and containerization principles
  • Experience migrating from on-prem to cloud (AWS preferred)
  • Experience in event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS)
