Quantum Computing Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Quantum Computing Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of a real quantum computer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing installation and maintenance of complex subsystems, as well as supporting testing and characterization of RF components at cryogenic temperatures. They will also assemble and maintain cryogenic setups, including cryostats, vacuum pumps, and control equipment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Operation of high-end lab equipment, including cryostats, vacuum systems, and vacuum pumps.
  • Supporting testing and characterization of RF components at cryogenic temperatures.
  • Assembling and maintaining cryogenic setups, including cryostats, vacuum pumps, and control equipment.
  • Quality Control checks and data logging.
  • Developing and executing best practice procedures.
  • Fault finding, repair, and maintenance in lab hardware.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a similar role within a scientific or advanced engineering environment.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience building and operating cryogenic equipment.
  • Vacuum equipment assembly and test.
  • Good understanding of RF best practice and RF signal cabling, including in cryo environments.
