Senior Legal Leadership Position

This is a newly created leadership role that offers the opportunity to grow into senior management while making a positive impact in women's access to justice.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality legal advice, casework and representation in complex matters, supervise and mentor a team of 4 solicitors, act as Principal Legal Officer when required, lead community outreach and deliver legal education, and build relationships with stakeholders across legal, government and community sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic legal advice and support to the team and other stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor junior solicitors to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Represent the organization in complex legal matters and proceedings.
- Develop and implement effective community outreach strategies to increase access to justice for women.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across legal, government and community sectors.
- Admission as a solicitor in Australia plus eligibility for an NT Practising Certificate.
- Four or more years post-admission experience in relevant practice areas, including domestic, family and sexual violence, child protection, family law, and victims of crime compensation.
- Experience or strong interest in trauma-informed, culturally safe practice, ideally with Aboriginal communities.
- Leadership and mentoring experience within a legal practice.
