We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paediatric Orthoptist to provide high-quality ophthalmic care to children.

  • Investigating and managing paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility conditions.\
  • Contributing to the effective and efficient operation of Ophthalmology outpatient clinics.\
  • Participating in community outreach clinics to expand access to specialist screening services.\
  • Analyzing and interpreting clinical data, with a high level of written and oral communication skills.\
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers and staff at all levels.\
  • Experience with a range of orthoptic assessment procedures.\
  • Knowledge of strabismus, amblyopia, ocular motility, refractive error, and assessment of children with visual impairments.\

    • Required Skills and Qualifications:\

      • An appropriate degree or Master's Degree qualification in Orthoptics which entitles registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB).\
      • Eligible for membership of Orthoptics Australia (OA).\
      • 2 years of paediatric ophthalmology experience post-qualification.\
      • Able to work effectively in a team environment.\
      • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.\
      • Able to communicate complex information to diverse groups.\
      • Familiarity with medical terminology and equipment.\
      • Able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.\
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.\
