About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mission Writer to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our mission resource team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, engaging resources for our faith communities.

Reporting to the Mission Resource Manager, this is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people who need help most.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and write resources for TSA faith communities, including small group outlines, evangelistic tracts, inter-generational segments, and sermon content.
  • Edit copy from other Mission writers to improve flow, clarity, user-experience, and ensure consistent formatting across all resources.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for relevant and innovative resource development.
  • Review and understand relevant Lived Experience research.
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience writing and editing to a brief.
  • Experience writing and using Christian ministry resources.
  • A relevant state Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Tertiary qualification in theology, ministry, communications, or journalism or related field.
  • Understanding or experience of Salvation Army corps-based ministry.
  • Experience in youth or young adults ministry.
