As a Lead Electrical Engineer with Bechtel Corporation, you will play a key role in delivering medium to large-scale EPC and EPCM projects.

Leading the design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical components and processes will be your primary responsibility. Your technical expertise will be instrumental in resolving complex issues and ensuring that project requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and conduct independent electrical work, utilizing judgment to evaluate, select, apply, and adapt electrical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on a medium-size project or assignment.
  2. Provide technical input to meet procurement requirements.
  3. Review and make recommendations on electrical engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards, ensuring compliance with project engineering standards.
  4. Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of components and processes used in electricity generation, transmission, and storage.
  5. Review and approve key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings, material specifications, drawings, and change orders.
  6. Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management.
  7. Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of electrical engineering aspects of the work.
  8. Develop conceptual designs for electrical engineering projects or projects with specialized or unique requirements.
  9. Support the preparation of estimates, staffing needs, and schedules.

Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Relevant work experience in FEED, proposal, and detailed engineering, preferably in the EPC/EPCM industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil, and gas plants.
  2. Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computer applications within the Electrical engineering discipline.
  3. Experience in design, procurement, construction, commissioning, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, or process plants is desirable.
  4. Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods and of precedents in the Electrical discipline and principles and practices of inter-related disciplines.
  5. Knowledge of related construction practices and the associated costs.
  6. Knowledge of application and coordination of 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools on a project.
  7. Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the discipline.
