About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Leadership Professional to partner with our Construction and Department Managers to ensure the implementation of our 'Safety First' culture and leadership standards across McNab's projects.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for driving safety on our sites, collaborating with project teams to identify and implement strategies that promote a safety-first mindset among subcontractors and direct workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exceptional safety leadership skills, ensuring that site teams understand, believe in, and connect with safety on a personal level.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to develop and implement safety strategies, focusing on promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Identify opportunities for technical and safety leadership development, taking ownership of your own growth and professional development.
  • Provide education, support, and advice to HSE Advisors and other team members to enhance their knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Collaborate with other HSE Business Partners and the McNab Group to share information, learnings, priorities, current exposures, and risks, ensuring an informed and knowledgeable outcome.
  • Foster productive relationships with subcontractors, setting, educating, and holding them accountable for safety expectations.
  • Proactively identify potential issues through early engagement in operational planning, site walks, high-risk planning, relationships, meetings, etc., and collaborate with Project Managers and Site Managers.
About You

We are looking for a passionate individual who genuinely believes in safety and leads by example. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a relevant discipline.
  • Solid experience as a health and safety professional on commercial construction sites.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse groups of people.
  • The willingness to be routinely visible on site, promoting a safety-first culture.
  • A proven track record of influencing others and leading by example.
