Job Title: Primary Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Special Education Teacher to join our team on a fixed term basis, working with children who have Autism in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum, tailored to the specific needs and abilities of students with Autism.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external specialists to create a supportive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic progress, strengths, and areas for development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
  • Valid teaching certification and NESA Accreditation
  • Proven experience working with children with Autism or special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in special education and differentiation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • First Aid certification (desirable).

This is a fixed term contract which may continue into Term 2 & Term 3 for the right applicant.
