Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Primary Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing tailored educational support to children with Autism in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create and implement individualized learning programs that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students with Autism, aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues and Stakeholders: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists to create a supportive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Utilize Evidence-Based Strategies: Employ assistive technologies and evidence-based teaching strategies to enhance student learning outcomes and promote continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and Track Progress: Regularly assess and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as necessary to ensure optimal results.
  • Provide Feedback and Support: Offer regular feedback to students and parents on academic progress, strengths, and areas for development.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field, with valid teaching certification and NESA Accreditation.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with Autism or special educational needs, with a strong understanding of best practices in special education and differentiation strategies.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain), with First Aid certification (desirable).
