About the Role
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals, providing holistic care and support in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
As a compassionate and skilled Spiritual Care Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff.
The role involves conducting assessments, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions to promote optimal well-being. You will also provide education and training to healthcare professionals on spiritual care principles and practices.
A typical day may include responding to referrals for dying patients, supporting patients with complex health challenges, leading group meditation sessions, and collaborating with Buddhist Monks to provide farewell blessings for deceased patients.
In addition to direct patient care, you will be responsible for promoting the profession through education, research, and advocacy. This includes sharing insights into your work with the greater healthcare team, highlighting the value of spiritual care in holistic wellbeing.
To succeed in this role, you will possess strong interpersonal and listening skills, exceptional time management abilities, and the capacity to work effectively as part of a diverse team and as a sole practitioner. A high level of computer competency and strong commitment to quality care are also essential.
