Renewable Energy Origination Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Origination Manager to drive our energy contracting strategy and originate long-term revenue agreements for renewable and firmed energy products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing power purchase agreements (PPAs), retail and structured contracts with energy buyers including large corporates, industrials, and electricity retailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate and execute tailored energy contracts across buyers, delivering firmed renewables, hybrid offerings, and bespoke structured products.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with senior leaders across large energy users, electricity retailers, and intermediaries to develop a high-conviction pipeline of opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a national buyer network to support project commercialisation and market expansion.
  • Own the end-to-end contracting process, including deal structuring, pricing, negotiation, and execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align on deal parameters and risk positions.
  • Develop commercial offer materials, term sheets, and contract documentation.
  • Monitor energy market trends, regulatory developments, and customer demand to refine origination strategy and commercial offerings.
  • Support investment approval processes and represent the organisation at external events.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in energy contract origination, corporate PPA negotiation, or structured energy product sales.
  • Proven track record of closing complex commercial energy transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain deep, senior-level relationships across the Australian energy landscape.
  • Deep understanding of electricity markets, renewable energy projects, and contract structures.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to translate market insights into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to evaluate and articulate risk/return profiles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex negotiations simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High level of initiative and commercial ownership.
