About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mining Operations Manager to join our team at Mineral Mining Services. This is a key leadership role that will be responsible for the performance of our existing projects through leadership of our Regional Mining Managers and high-level stakeholder management.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mining engineering and a proven track record of delivering great operational outcomes. They will be a natural solutions seeker/problem solver, a leader, and a team player who understands the importance of building great teams and being respected by those around them.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Performance Ownership: The Mining Operations Manager will be responsible for the performance of our existing mining projects, ensuring that they are executed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  2. Stakeholder Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing high-level stakeholders, including JV partners, clients, and suppliers, to ensure that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the services provided.
  3. Leadership and Mentoring: The Mining Operations Manager will lead and mentor our Regional Mining Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver great operational outcomes.
  4. Support to the General Manager - Mining: The successful candidate will provide support to the General Manager - Mining, including team build outs, strategic initiatives, and opportunity evaluation.
  5. Issue Management: The Mining Operations Manager will be responsible for managing any issues that escalate, working with stakeholders to resolve them in a timely and effective manner.
  6. Future Opportunities: The successful candidate will work with stakeholders to increase future opportunities for Mineral Mining Services.
  7. Compliance: The Mining Operations Manager will ensure that all safety, health, and environmental regulations are complied with, and that our operations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
  8. Financial Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing budgets, cost control, and financial performance of mining operations, ensuring that they are aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  9. Coordination with Technical Service Leaders: The Mining Operations Manager will coordinate with technical service leaders to ensure that our projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
  10. Operational Performance Monitoring: The successful candidate will monitor and analyze operational performance, implementing improvements as necessary to ensure that our operations are optimized and that we are delivering great results.
  11. Reporting: The Mining Operations Manager will prepare and present reports on operational status, performance metrics, and project progress to senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. Proven Operational and Management Results: The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering great operational outcomes in projects of various scale.
  2. Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  3. Experience: The Mining Operations Manager will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in mining operations, with experience in a managerial role.
  4. Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of mining equipment, techniques, and industry best practices, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Financial Management: The Mining Operations Manager will have a proven ability to manage budgets, costs, and financial performance.
  6. Safety and Environmental Sustainability: The successful candidate will be committed to safety and environmental sustainability, and will ensure that our operations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
  7. Proficiency in Mining Software and Data Analysis Tools: The Mining Operations Manager will be proficient in mining software and data analysis tools.
