Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our Energy team in a substation design role. As an Associate Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial part in designing and delivering high-quality solutions for our clients. Your expertise will contribute to the successful planning, design, and execution of substation infrastructure, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design substation infrastructure and support other BESS, solar, and wind projects. This includes design of earthworks, drainage, cable systems, roads, demolition, layouts, and more.
- Design Review and Quality Assurance: Develop and review detailed civil engineering designs, reports, specifications, and relevant documentation. Provide feedback on civil design models and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Project Management and Coordination: Conduct feasibility studies, risk analyses, and site assessments. Participate in engineering, design, and construction review processes and provide technical expertise and guidance as required.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success. Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and assist in the advancement of digital engineering and digital innovation skills within the team.
- Education and Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Professional registrations such as CPEng, NER, or equivalent are desirable.
- Experience and Skills: Proven experience within the energy (power utility) sector. Previous experience working on substation, transmission, and distribution projects will be highly favorable, especially within NSW. Strong understanding of civil modeling and relevant design software (e.g., Civil 3D/12D). Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly within a team environment, collaborating effectively with cross-discipline teams to achieve project goals.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
